Heather Stefanson's "D-" score as a party leader is based on assessment of her personal leadership on 9 measurement categories relating to policy, voting, or actions, summarized as follows:
During her time as an MPP, she has voted the correct way on all the bills related to life and family issues.
In a 2022 Canada Day tweet, she stated that she is firmly in favour of the choice to kill unborn children by abortion and that she would defend that "right" throughout Manitoba.
She has continued the status quo of funding medically unnecessary, surgical and chemical abortions.
Stefanson has continued her PC predecessor's legislation to protect the conscience rights of doctors and nurses who oppose euthanasia for religious or moral resons from being compelled to participate in, or give referals for, these types of killings.
Stefanson voted against an NDP bill that tried to ban peaceful pro-life expression on taxpayer-owned public sidewalks. This NDP bill would have banned pro-life demonstrations of any kind, within a radius of up to 150 metres around an abortion facility, and infringed on the right to protest.
Stefanson expressed her support for the homosexual agenda during a speech outside the legislature on June 25, 2022.
Stefanson expressed her support for transgenderism and homosexuality, during a speech outside the legislature on June 25, 2022, although she has since backed off from the movement to push transgenderism on children using the education system.
On August 17, 2023, Premier Stefanson made a very welcome promise that if re-elected, she would introduce parental rights legislaton guaranteeing the right of parents to be informed if their child is wanting to change genders at school by using opposite sex names or pronouns. She stated this during a policy announcement pledging to enhance parental rights by changing the Public Schools Act. Those changes would include the right to be informed about curriculum, and the right to advance notice before any presentations are made in school by third party organizations (think Planned Parenthood).
Stefanson has continued the previous PC Premier's legislation to keep marijuana away from children and the general public. The PC government legislation banned smoking marijuana on or near school grounds, streets and sidewalks, parks and beaches.
NOTE: Always make your voting decision based on the merit of your local candidates, not the Party Leaders. If a local candidate in your riding has a green light rating from Campaign Life Coalition, vote for them, even if the Party Leader disappoints.
